AVRG Wins Sports Day Grant, Holds Try-It Night!

Friday, September 28^th – 8:00-10:30PM @ Glenwood Center!
 
We will be putting skates on grrrls who want to try roller derby and holding a small exhibition scrimmage with skaters from around Vancouver Island!! Come check it out! Donations to the Food Bank are being accepted!

8:00PM-9:15PM Welcome, forms, skate-up, try-it
9:30PM-10:30PM Scrimmage !!
10:30PM-11:00PM Open Skate!

Don’t wanna skate but want to be part? Come to our officiating clinic to learn about volunteering and on and off-skates official jobs! Tuesday, October 2nd 7:30PM-9:30PM at Alberni Elementary Field House

The Alberni Valley Roller Girls have been awarded a CBC Sports Day Grant to support our Recruitment strategies and try-it night this September/October!

The Alberni Valley Roller Girls are joining in on Sports Day in Canada in the month of September by inviting anyone interested in trying Roller Derby at our open fresh meat nights! Roller Derby is an incredible workout that allows women from all levels to play on a team with a great group of women. Check out this link for the details and we would LOVE to see you!!!

We Want YOU

Alberni Valley Roller Girls are seeking Fresh Meat (new skaters) to join us this fall. Come try out an evening of fun on skates with your local roller girls. It will be free to drop in, you must be 18+. Bring any protective gear you may have: wrist gaurds, knee pads, elbow pads, helmets, but we will have some to lend out as well. If you have skates, great but we will also try to set you up to try them out. You don't need to have any experience, we will show you the basics.

That's right derby fans! The Alberni Valley Roller Girls are hosting the Nanaimo Nemesis at Glenwood Arena, Saturday July 7th at 7pm. To start this family friendly event, the Alberni Valley Roller Bratz & Friends junior girls team will be warming up the crowd with some impressive play of their own. Come out and cheer on your local teams!
